Service Description

When: 6-week course starting Thursday, Apr 25 @ 6:30pm Where: Weston Community Center Cost: $175 non-member, $155 member Member discount for active CRDTC club members only! FMI: https://www.crdtc.org/membership Instructor: Wendy Marcks, assisted by Diane Hagelstein. For dogs 6 months and older. Companion obedience training for new dog owners, beginners, veteran dog owners with new dogs, & handlers who want to practice fun, positive teaching techniques with their dogs! Please note: The first class meets for 90 minutes; subsequent classes are 50 minutes. No dogs at the first class. Attendance in the first class is required to participate in the subsequent classes. - The first class is for people only (no dogs). Updated learning theory and positive reinforcement techniques to build trust and produce long lasting results will be presented. Methods including use of a clicker or verbal marker will be explained. Shaping will be described and class members will participate in exercises to learn and improve timing. - Weekly assignments for practice at home. - Instructor plus an experienced assistant to provide individual attention. - Course fee includes a clicker. You must pre-register for this course. Additional information: - Dogs should be at least 6 months old, with all vaccinations up to date. - Usually for one handler per dog, however, additional family members may attend and work one at a time with the dog. Handlers should be at least 15 years old. - Please leave your dog at home on the first night of class. - For all classes, please wait outside until the instructor comes to let in the group. - Please potty your dog before class and pick up after your dog. Buckets will be available to dispose of waste.

Cancellation Policy

You may request a refund before the start of the course by emailing us at info@crdtc.org. NO refunds after the first class. Refunds will be credited to the card used, minus payment processing fees. Payment must be made in full before the start of the course. Returned checks incur a $25 fee. No refunds for a missed class. If a class must be cancelled due to inclement weather or other circumstances, we will make every reasonable attempt to schedule a make-up class as soon as possible.
