Service Description

When: 6-week course starting Monday, January 27 @ 5:30pm Where: Weston Community Center Cost: $195 non-member, $175 member For more information on membership: https://www.crdtc.org/membership Instructor: Ronni Dalton, assisted by Susan Stock For dogs and handlers who have completed a basic training course, and are interested in more advanced training. The goal is to improve the relationship between handler and dog. You must pre-register for this course. Additional information: - Dogs should be at least 6 months old, with all vaccinations up to date. - Dogs and handlers must have completed basic obedience training, and be ready for an advanced level of training. - For all classes, please wait outside until the instructor comes to let in the group. - Please potty your dog before class and pick up after your dog. Buckets will be available to dispose of waste. The skills you learned in previous classes are just the start. We will work together to make sure you and your dog have a strong training foundation. You will learn how to be a better trainer, and build a better bond with your dog. Subjects we will cover - Using a clicker - The difference between luring and shaping. When to use one or the other. - How to get and maintain your dog’s attention. - How to get and maintain loose leash heeling - Increasing exercise duration, including with distractions - Improving your basic training skills - Introduction to the many dog sports, and which may be appropriate for you and your dog
