This class will focus on three behaviors: Back up, go around an object, touch a target! Every

one of these skills will build into obedience and rally skills.

Back up! Backing up prevents anticipation and creeping forward with distance exercises in

obedience. It’s a rally skill required once you reach the Excellent level.

Go around an object: Dogs love to move! This trick encourages your dog to work at a distance,

which is useful for advanced obedience exercises and finding heel or front positions. It

simulates an obedience send or retrieve so you can work on drive, speed, and accuracy on the

return. Tackle that Send Away in the Rally Master level!

Target touch: Distance behaviors can be taught and refined with nose target. Start those Go

Outs! Nose touches can be used to engage your dog in heeling. So many practical

applications!

Dogs are expected to be in their crates or leashed on mat during class.
