Service Description

When: Tuesday, June 6th 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Where: Weston Community Center Cost: $30 members, $40 nonmembers Instructor: Martha Campbell Want to learn about nosework with your dog? It's the new craze with dogs, with competition opportunities in many venues (AKC, NACSW, PSD to name a few). It is super fun for your dog. They love to use their nose, but now they can get paid for it, with treats of course. Teaching them to sniff for SCENTWORKS!! This is a "try-it" workshop for folks who have never introduced their dogs to scentwork and want to see if they like it. Any dog, any age, any size, any color! What you need to bring: - Your dog - Soft, small, smelly treats, like tiny slices of hotdogs. Whatever you think is enough, bring more! - Flat collar - 6ft leash or longer - running shoes - a place for your dog to quietly and calmly wait their turn - e.g. portable crate, quiet mat, car. Martha has been active training dogs since 1996 in a variety of skills and has been a professional dog trainer since 2011. She is a National Association of Canine Scent work (NACSW) Judge and Instructor, AKC Tracking Judge TD, TDU, TDX, VST since 2011, Scentwork, all levels 2016, and Performance Scent Dog (PSD) Judge since 2015. She was also a member of C.A.S.T. (Canine Alert Search Team) as a dog handler, 2004-2012 and trained in HRD (Human Remains Detection) Wilderness, Tracking/Trailing for FEMA. In her own words "Watching dogs work through scenting challenges has been a, well, I guess you could call it an obsession."

Cancelation Policy

You may request a refund before the start of the course by emailing us at info@crdtc.org. NO refunds after the first class. Refunds will be credited to the card used, minus payment processing fees. Payment must be made in full before the start of the course. Returned checks incur a $25 fee. No refunds for a missed class. If a class must be cancelled due to inclement weather or other circumstances, we will make every reasonable attempt to schedule a make-up class as soon as possible.
