CRDTC Instructors

Beginner Obedience:   Wendy Marcks
    Wendy became the Instructor for CRDTC's Beginner and Advanced Beginners classes in February 2013, after serving as Assistant Instructor for several years. She is a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy Dog Trainer Professional Program, a professional member of APDT, and an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. She stays current by attending seminars and workshops.

    Wendy has served as board member for CRDTC and for her breed club, the Scottish Terrier Club of New England. She also performs home evaluations for the STCNE rescue organization. Wendy has a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and has worked as an Educator for the UMass Extension 4-H Youth Development Program for many years.

Competition Obedience:   Tracy Mulrenan

    Tracy is the instructor for the CRDTC competition classes. She has also presented special workshops and held summer training sessions for CRDTC.

    Tracy began teaching classes in 1991 and has worked with many different breeds. She's taught puppy kindergarten, obedience, and agility. She uses a clicker and loves to keep training upbeat and fast paced. Her philosophy is to keep training fun and never skip steps. She feels a great relationship and a solid foundation are the keys to successful progressions in training.

    Tracy has attended numerous seminars, camps, and workshops, including an obedience training camp with Sylvia Bishop. She is a past board member of CRDTC, and has served as obedience chair for her breed club. Tracy has put over 50 obedience and agility titles on her dogs and achieved a national obedience ranking with her Novice A dog. She competes in obedience and agility with her Boxer and Border Collie.

Puppy classes:   Ronni Dalton

    Ronnie began teaching CRDTC's puppy classes in November 2018. She received her Dog Training Certification from Animal Behavioral College in 2009 and she's taught puppy kindergarten, grduate puppy, and beginner pet obedience classes at a local training school for many years. For continuing education she attends seminars on various dog performance and behavior topics several times a year.

    Ronni has achieved titles in rally, obedience, nosework and dock diving with her Golden Retriever and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.

Special Workshops:   Janice Ritter

    Janice has taught puppy kindergarten, beginner obedience classes, obedience workshops, and competition preparation classes. She is also an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator.

    Janice is co-founder and past-president of German Shepherd Rescue of New England. She has competed in both Schutzhund and AKC obedience with her German Shepherd dogs, achieving both the SchH1 and CDX titles. Her current dogs in training are Belgian Malinois.

Rally:   Betty Dannewitz

    Betty has competed in rally and obedience with her Papillons and achieved the Rally Excellent title with her dog Brio, CH Rorralore Con Brio CDX BN GN RE. Betty has also judged rally at dog club fun matches and is a past vice-president of CRDTC.

Obedience:   Geoff Stern

    Geoff is a substitute instructor for the CRDTC competition classes and has also taught the summer obedience classes. He is a long-time member of Charles River DTC, has many years of teaching experience (both human and canine), and has been training his dogs for over 25 years in obedience, agility, conformation, and other activities. Geoff has earned multiple CD, CDX, and rally excellent titles with his dogs and has competed in AKC, UKC, ASCA, and Canadian obedience trials. He is currently owned and operated by three Belgian Tervuren and a Golden Retriever.

Tracking:   Roseann Mandell

    Roseann teaches the Introduction to Tracking classes each spring. She's been involved with AKC tracking since 2000 and has attended numerous tracking workshops presented by New England tracking judges. She's also organized tracking fun days for beginners. Roseann is an experienced tracklayer and tracking test secretary as well as a past board member of CRDTC. She trains for all levels of AKC tracking, including variable surface tracking and urban tracking, and has achieved TD titles and a TDX title with her Golden Retrievers.

    Roseann has been an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator since the very early days of the CGC program. In addition to tracking, she participates in obedience, rally, agility, field, and conformation with her dogs.
